Nombre d’œuvres écrites par Sophia Dussek ont longtemps été attribuées à son mari et la plupart de ses compositions sont tombées dans l’oubli, dormant dans des bibliothèques au Royaume Uni. Pourtant ses compositions ont connu un très grand succès de son vivant, tout particulièrement ses arrangements pour harpe d’airs favoris, d’opéras populaires et de chants écossais, gallois, irlandais ou même français.
Après avoir publié un album consacré aux sonates composées par Monsieur et Madame Dussek, Kyunghee Kim-Sutre nous propose une sélection d’Airs favoris arrangés pour la harpe, dont la plupart n’ont jamais encore été enregistrés.
A considerable number among Sophia Dussek’s works were long attributed to her husband, and most of her compositions were forgotten, lying dormant in the libraries of the United Kingdom. Yet these compositions had enjoyed great success in her lifetime, particularly her arrangements for harp of favorite airs, popular operas and Scottish, Welsh, Irish or even French songs.
Afer having published an album devoted to sonatas composed by Mr and Mrs Dussek, Kyunghee Kim-Sutre offers us a selection of Favourite Airs arranged for the harp, most of which have not yet been recorded
